Mercedes Autohaus, Newstead

New car showroom, sales and service development comprising five levels adjacent to Breakfast Creek in Newstead. The building is equivalent to 10 storeys in height and is approximately 100m by 60m wide.


Projex Partners provided full structural design services including structural steelwork, precast, pre-tensioned, post-tensioned and conventional reinforced concrete elements. Key features of this project are the long-span concrete floors with limitations on deflection criteria.


This project demonstrates our expertise in structural concrete and steel design.

Griffith University Aquatic Centre & Gym, Gold Coast

The project included an Olympic swimming pool with associated service spaces, a gym and external terraced seating and landscape areas. Whilst the structure comprises a combination of reinforced concrete block walls and precast walls panels supporting suspended concrete slabs, public spaces feature high quality coloured insitu concrete surface finishes. Large open spaces are created for the gym and exercise space. The building won ‘Building of the Year (Gold Coast Region) from the Australia Institute of Architects in 2018.

Eversleigh Road, Scarborough

Projex Partners was engaged by Moreton Bay Regional Council to undertake a site investigation, geotechnical investigation and slope stability assessment of the existing embankment for the removal of a large tree at the eastern end of Eversleigh Road, Scarborough.


Projex Partners worked with Council to solve the slope stability issues and improve the useability of the site through the construction of a retaining wall and landscaping.

Drysdale Funerals, Nambour

Projex Partners is pleased to have provided structural engineering services for temporary works and inspections during demolition and reconstruction of the Drysdale Funerals site in Nambour. The $2M redevelopment transformed the venue into a multipurpose, state of the art facility.

Callaghan Park Boat Ramp, Rockhampton

As part of the Fitzroy Boat Ramp project, Projex Partners delivered directly to Rockhampton Regional Council, the design and contract administration for the boat ramp carparking facility at Callaghan Park in Rockhampton.


This new 4-lane boat ramp onto the Fitzroy River has a floating walkway, 52 car and trailer parks, 15 car only parks and loading and unloading areas.

Stanage Bay Boat Ramp Reconstruction

Projex Partners was engaged by Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to undertake the detailed design and construction administration of the replacement of the boat ramp at Stanage Bay.

The Stanage Bay boat ramp replaced the existing ramp with a new two lane ramp, floating walkway and groyne to provide safer access to the Thirsty Sound passage during all weather events.


Lockhart River Bridge Replacement

Projex Partners in conjunction with Black & More, undertook the detailed design and documentation of the replacement of an existing degraded bridge in Lockhart River in Cape York with a major culvert structure.


The site is on the only access to the Lockhart River airstrip and management of accessibility to the airstrip was a key consideration in the design.

Gasworks Apartments, Newstead

Design of a 16-storey mixed use building over four basements. Design challenges involved deep basement excavation immediately adjacent to the Gas-O-Meter, a heritage listed masonry and structural steel structure, and construction between two portions of existing basement already constructed on the site. The structural design incorporated a diaphragm wall for retention, with reinforced concrete slabs, post-tensioned transfer elements and predominately precast vertical elements including the lift and stair cores.

Newstead Series Apartments

Design of Stages 1 and 2 of the $95 million Newstead Series residential project. The development includes 300 apartments and townhomes spread across four (4) boutique towers – The Carlyle, The Donaldson, The Ajax and The Koerstz.


A shared podium provides half an acre of subtropical landscaped gardens and amenities including a 25 metre lap pool and spa, sauna, gymnasium with green room, alfresco dining areas, fire pit, outdoor cinema, recreational lawns and exercise spaces. Masonry screen elements provide a notable feature on the street elevations. Projex Partners also provided construction support in relation to tower cranes and material hoists for the project.

NDRRA Queensland Reconstruction Authority

Projex Partners was engaged by Sunshine Coast Council to undertake the Project Management for Browns Road floodway and culvert restoration under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).


NDRRA site inspections, scoping, reporting and preparation of NDRRA submissions for Sunshine Coast Regional Council of sites in Peachester, Beerwah, Glenview, Pelican Waters, Landsborough, Beerburrm, Glass House Mountains, Yandina, Nambour, Palmwoods, Eumundi, Belli Park, Coolabine, Kiamba, Meridan Plains, Tanawah, Woombye, Mooloolah Valley, Gheerulla, Eerwah Vale, Dulong, Federal, Pomona, Cooroy, Lake MacDonald, Bald Knob, Maroochy River, Doonan, Reesville, Buderim, Mount Mellum, Balmoral Ridge, Cootharaba, Hunchy, Bli Bli, Coolum, Obi Obi, Weyba Downs, Sunshine Beach, Conondale and Little Mountain.
