Scrubby Creek Road, Detailed Landslip Repair Design, Gympie Region

Projex Partners was engaged by Gympie Regional Council to investigate the causes of failure and design remedial works for the restoration of batter slips along Scrubby Creek Road in Western Gympie Region.

This project involved the restoration of batter slips both above and below the road in extremely steep topography (existing 1 on 1 batters) within highly erosive soils. Works included contract document preparations to TMR standards and preliminary detailed design of two concrete causeways.

Skyring Apartments, Newstead

Design of a 25-storey unit building over three basements. The project utilises a diaphragm wall for retention in poor ground conditions, with reinforced concrete slabs and post-tensioned transfer elements.

Pietra Apartments, New Farm

Design of all structural elements for the project incorporating floor slabs, transfer slabs, columns and precast walls, steel framed roof and tower crane base. Inspections of structural items during construction and liaison with developer/builder.

110 Mary Street, Brisbane

Design of precast, pre-stressed concrete flooring panels for a 27-storey office building in the tower floors. Design review of some other structural elements of the project.

Aquila Apartments, New Farm

Design of all elements of 10-storey and 4-storey unit buildings utilising insitu reinforced and pre-stressed slabs, precast walls, steel roof framing and tower crane base.

Ciel Apartments, New Farm

Preliminary and detailed design for a 7-level unit development. A difficult site and large open spaces in the prestige apartments required an innovative structural system to be developed, with multiple transfers throughout the building. Late changes to unit layouts also required development of an innovative retrofit to one transfer slab to create access between two units and combine them into one space.

Mooloolaba Sandbag Wall – Stage 2 (Design & DA)

Projex Partners was engaged by Sunshine Coast Council to design, document and certify a buried sandbag retaining wall at Mooloolaba Spit (Parkyn Parade) to protect the beach and park infrastructure against erosion from major weather events.

Mooloolaba Spit is an important part of the Sunshine Coast’s beachside environment for tourists and locals, however ongoing erosion during severe weather events has caused significant scarping and damage to vegetation and park infrastructure that is impacting the amenity of the beachfront and threatening existing infrastructure.

The sandbag wall will work in conjunction with the Mooloolaba sand pumping program to improve the amenity of the beach and limit the impacts of future weather events.

Caboolture River Road Residential Unit Development

Projex Partners was engaged by Morayfield Property Developments for the design and documentation of operational works plans associated with the 116 residential unit development at Caboolture River Road.

The operational works application included stormwater design, earthworks, Stormwater Management Plan, water and sewer connections, application to Council/ Unity Water and external channelised urban intersection design.

Bradman Avenue Revetment Wall, Maroochydore

Sunshine Coast Council requested Projex Partners undertake detailed design of a grouted rock pitched revetment wall to replace an existing failing section (approximately 42m) of the revetment wall along Bradman Avenue.

Landfill ESC Auditing – Pierce Avenue, Bells Creek

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council (Council) undertook the construction of a leachate cut-off wall and associated leachate management works at the Pierce Avenue Landfill, Bells Creek.

Council entered into a contract to construct a 780m long sub surface cement bentonite cut-off wall and toe bund, leachate rising main and pump well, sediment pond, access track and associated infrastructure. The cut-off wall, once constructed, will minimise off-site migration of ground and surface waters. The main purpose of the project is to bring the site up to modern best practice landfilling standards. Including optimising the landfills operational performance to decrease leachate generation while increasing the recovery of leachate for disposal to a licenced sewerage treatment plant.

Council engaged Projex Partners to be the Principals Representative for Sediment and Erosion Control Inspection and Auditing for the duration of the construction period of the contract.
